I’ll go on the record as saying some the players could have been on my ‘Fantasy Football Players of the Year’ team which will come out later, but they were low profile enough to be better fits here. Suffice it to say I like all these players a lot.
QB: Josh Freeman
RB: Zac Stacy
If all goes as planned Stacy should be able to beat out Daryl Richardson and Isaiah Pead to become Steven Jackson‘s successor. While Stacy is also a deep league sleeper for us, he could easily transcend that value, and move up draft boards.
RB: Mark Ingram
If the Jets didn’t acquire Chris Ivory Mike Goodson would have got this spot, but now Goodson could find himself off the team following his arrest. As for Ingram, fantasy players may remember in his rookie year Ingram was supposed to be the perfect goal-line back for the Saints and score ten touchdowns, well he did score ten touchdowns, but it took him two years to do it. WIth Ivory gone it clears up about five to ten touches per game, and last year Ingram out-carried Pierre Thomas 156 to 106. So, hopefully his carries should continue to rise. Although, in PPR leagues he is dropped down quite a bit.
WR: Kendall Wright
WR: Denarius Moore
Jeffery didn’t play a full season last year, but there really isn’t much competition for Jeffery at the number two spot, and should at least be able to double his numbers from last year to about 600 yards and five touchdowns.
Another second year receiver, Floyd, should have a much better time this season considering the arrival of Carson Palmer. Not to mention Floyd actually finished up 2012 nicely with 45 catches and 562 yards.
TE: Rob Housler
Housler is in a similar situation to Jordan Cameron with their arrows point up, but has a much better quarterback throwing him the ball. Not to mention Palmer favored his tight end, Brandon Meyers, last year with the Raiders.
